Tickets are now on sale for the off-Broadway comedy How to Be a New Yorker. Written and performed by actors/comedians and licensed NYC tour guides Margaret Copeland and Kevin James Doyle, the comedy will begin performances at Sofia’s Downstairs Theater on August 22. Robert Ross Parker directs.
In How to Be a New Yorker audiences learn everything they ever needed to know about what it takes to be a real New Yorker (or at least not stand out as a tourist)...from the instinct for disdainful glances to the peevish muttering and innate rudeness that distinguish true New Yorkers. Copeland and Doyle take audiences on a comedic romp filled with stories from the world’s largest landfill in Staten Island to the home of the Bronx Bombers.
Set design for How to Be a New Yorker is by Nick Francone, with costume design by Janell Clingenpeel.
